Pablo H. Statement

The meaning of life which I prefer to call the “meaninglessness of life,” is based on our belief systems: personal, political, religious, social, superstitious, sexual, mythical, and many others
beliefs of similar and opposed subjects. Beliefs that sustain the illusory existence of "duality"; good vs. bad, beautiful vs ugliness, up vs down.

Duality plunges us into madness until we are convinced of being right to become the carriers of the only one truth. When we discover "others" also carry their own beliefs that have nothing to do with "ours" we develop struggle feelings that take us to the path of fear, then anger, and we end in animosity. Feelings to dominate and control us to the point of insanity and embracing injustice. In the middle of our intolerance we are pleased by killing, because that is exactly what we have been doing for many years of wars; For one reason or another, in the climax of our arrogance and alienation we have come to call ourselves …Humans?

I want to let you know that my artwork is nothing more than a "mirror," a mirror of circumstances reflecting beliefs or myths, a mirror of past and current stories, a mirror reflecting psychological stereotyped characters, …your mirror, …my mirror. A human mirror where, I reflect my point of view of this multifaceted reality through the synthesis of graphic styles and ancient cultural elements, explicitly manifesting in my artworks, where Sumerians, Egyptians, Mayans, Incas and Aztec dance hand in hand mixing with Siboneys, Tainos and Cherokees, as well as the ancient Japanese culture, Hindu and China, which I recreated reflecting the present moment.

The miscegenation represented, still without transcend the consciousness of our beliefs; we have mixed our flesh, but not our thoughts in disregard of the spirit, because we have turned our backs for centuries to many great teachers and avatars like Lao-Tse, Kabir, Mahavira, Krishna, Buddha, Jesus Christ, J. Krishnamurthy, Osho, Eckhart Tolle and many others. Chasing enemies in the shadows simply because our fears keep us afraid, and distant from the truth. This causes us and many others so much misfortune; and I wonder!

When we recognize we are not "us" or "them" but one of the many parts of the same? It is precisely our peculiarity of being exclusively unique, which makes us equal erasing distinction of any kind to conform to what we truly are; the many, multiple and dissimilar parts of a same people:
